In a joint effort with KPMG Mozambique, Plural Editores has just published the Mozambican Code of Civil Law, a book that had kept unpublished until now. This is the first of a series of books on Mozambican law. This series will fill a gap in the national editorial scene.
This first title – which is yet the text of the Portuguese 1966 Code of Civil Law, which is still in force under the constitutional principle that accepts the Law that was applicable before the independence of the country – makes also available several other acts on different subjects (Water, Right to Associate, Divorce, Rent, Mines, and Land) and their respective regulations. Furthermore, we would also point out the inclusion in this book of other acts that do not exclusively regulate civil matter, but that introduce modifications to some principles that mould the Code of Civil Law system – these are the cases of the Environment, Energy and Forest Acts.
